In 1945, brothers René and Raymond Bissonnette are coming from Lauzon, Québec, to purchase the funeral home of Arsène Michaud in Rimouski. Several years later, they purchase the funeral home of Mr. Mercier in Mont-Joli. His son Vincent Mercier becomes their manager. Then, at the dawn of 1990s, mister René Bissonnette is buying the whole of Raymond's shares, who is ready to retire.

Since 1978, Ms. Lise Proulx fills the positions of accountant and advisor to the family. Following Mr. Raymond Bissonnette retirement, Ms. Lise Proulx is promoted general director. In 1996, Mr. René Bissonnette suffered the loss of his second wife. This event will have an effect on his health and his dedication at work. In 2006, a cancer affects the husband of Ms. Proulx, that had joined her a few years ago. In 2008, the decision to sell is an option for her, her husband could no longer return to work.

In 2008, Mr. Harris Gleeton and his son, Mr. Dan Gleeton becomes the new owners of the Centre Funéraire Bissonnette. By appointing Ms. Amélie Canuel general director, they want to continue to improve services for families that mourning afflicts.
